I encourage you to take a break in your day and spend some time focusing on what makes life special for you, and what would change if you weren’t around.

I’m privileged to play the role of Clarence the Angel in the December production of “It’s a Wonderful Life” at the Lebanon Community Theatre. Clarence has to prove to Everyman George Bailey that his life has great value. One line he utters reflects on that notion –

“Strange isn’t it? Each man’s life touches so many lives, that when he isn’t around it leaves an awful hole, doesn’t it?” If you are special to others, you are blessed. Be thankful for that. Sharing brief comments on specific life categories:

FAMILY – including three grown successful children; seven healthy, intelligent grandchildren; and a loving wife of almost 55 years. Thanks!

FAITH – a belief in God keeps me grounded and focused in my Catholic faith. I’ve been honored to serve on the altar since childhood, evolving from altar boy then to lector today. Thanks again!

FRIENDS – that blend college classmates, clients and others in the business community, the many students I’ve taught, Elizabethtown and Ithaca College administrators, and special people that I can count on. There are too many to single out by name. …and again! The Lebanon Valley Chamber of Commerce will honor me with the Ambassador of the Year award on December 10th. I am humble d by the recognition.

Now it’s your turn. What are you thankful for during this Holiday Season? Take a minute right now and think about it. Make a list. Check it twice.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all!
